1.29: Siddha Ashrama

As I, Rama, walked alongside the noble sage Viswamithra, a profound sense of purification filled my being. His words resonated within me, stirring genuine curiosity and prompting me to seek further knowledge.

"Sir, I am truly grateful for the divine arrows you have bestowed upon me. With these celestial weapons, I feel invincible, as if even the gods themselves would find it challenging to challenge us," I expressed with heartfelt sincerity. But there was something more I yearned for—to understand the power of extermination.

With his wisdom shining brightly, Viswamithra began to fulfill my yearning. He shared the secrets of wielding the power of extermination with me, the resolute and pure-hearted prince.

"Rama, receive from me the shining armament sons of Krishaasva," Viswamithra declared. As he listed each name, their very utterance carried an air of power and mystique. It felt like a profound connection was forming between me and these formidable arrows.

I held the weapons in awe as they stood before me, possessing lustrous bodies and enchanting forms. Some resembled fire, others smoke, and a few even mirrored the radiant sun and moon. Each arrow spoke to me with a melodious voice, pledging their loyalty and willingness to serve.

With gratitude overflowing in my heart, I replied, "I shall keep you all stored within my memory, ready to call upon your strength when the time of need arises."

As the arrows encircled me before departing, their presence seemed almost surreal, like a fleeting dream. My heart swelled with pride at the thought of wielding such formidable power, yet I also felt a sense of responsibility that came with this divine gift.

But there was more to Siddha Ashrama, the sacred place we were approaching. I had noticed a cloud-like formation above the mountain, adorned with shimmering trees and surrounded by an array of majestic animals. The air was filled with the melodies of countless beautiful birds. Curiosity got the better of me, and I couldn't help but ask Viswamithra about this wondrous sight.

"Sage, O revered one, where do those wicked individuals who harm the Brahmins dwell? From which direction do they emerge to disrupt sacred rituals? Where must I provide protection to ensure the successful completion of the Yagna? And which Rakshasas must I vanquish? I yearn to hear your guidance on these matters," I expressed my earnest desire to learn and protect.

As I looked to Viswamithra, eager for his guidance, I sensed that my journey was taking me deeper into the realm of responsibility and divine purpose. It was not just about acquiring power but also about knowing how to use it wisely and with compassion.
